Hi there!
The name’s Hamza, I am just your regular mechanical engineering student who is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in our very own City College. The website that I’ve just made tackles the issue of how Islam is portrayed by the west, normally the right wing’s media depicts several flaws that might endanger western culture, but I am here to tell you something else! As a Muslim American, I’ve been delving into the case where Islam might strive in the most solitary of times; which is prison. This has become a mainstream phenomenon where convicts are converting to this ‘terrorist’ religion in order to attain peace and spirituality in their lives. Normally, those who have been detained seek to lead a better life; far away from the heinous activities which they used to be associated with. Honestly, I find it mind boggling when people who are kept isolated and un-updated from society’s propaganda and conspiracy theories, they attain knowledge from those who actually know the religion, unlike following the breakaway versions which were developed in the 60s and 70s during the Black Revolution.
I’ve discussed in further detail of how life changing can it be when you can just read one book, revolving around your acts and morals. One is a rhetorical essay and the other is a more in depth research essay. I hope you find it fascinating as I did!
